Spicy Buttermilk

Spicy buttermilk 2

Ingredients

Yogurt/Curd – 1/4 cup

Curry leaves – 1 sprig

Salt – ¼ teaspoon

Cumin Seeds – 1/2 teaspoon

Ginger – 1 small piece

Green chilli – 1

Asafoetida – ¼ teaspoon

Water – 1 cup

Procedure

STEP 1: Whisk the curd to make it smooth without any lumps.

STEP 2: Chop the curry leaves finely and add it to the curd.

STEP 3: Using a mortar and pestle crush the cumin seeds, chopped ginger and chopped green chillies coarsely.

STEP 4: Add the crushed mixture, salt, asafoetida and water to the curd. Mix well.

STEP 5: Let the mixture relax for 10 – 15 minutes to get spicy flavours in the buttermilk and then serve.

TIP: If you don’t like to chew on the spices (as it is coarsely crushed), you can filter using a sieve and then serve the buttermilk.

Sapodilla Milkshake/Sapota Milkshake

Sapota milkshake

Ingredients

Sapota/Chickoo/Sapodilla – 1 cup sliced

Sugar – 2 tea spoons

Milk – 1 cup

Ice cubes – ½ cup

Almonds – 15 pieces (soaked for 2 hours and peeled)

Vanilla ice cream – 1 scoop

Procedure

STEP 1: Add the sliced sapota, sugar, milk, almonds and ice cubes in a blender jar and blend it.

STEP 2: Add a scoop of vanilla ice cream at the bottom of the serving glass and then pour the milkshake on top of the ice cream.

STEP 3: Garnish with some thinly sliced almonds on top.

TIP: Serve the milkshake with both, a spoon for the ice cream and a straw for the milkshake.

Virgin Pina Colada

Pina colada ingredients

Ingredients

Pineapple – 1 cup chopped

Sugar – 5 tea spoons

Coconut milk – 1 cup

Ice cubes – ½ cup

Cherry – 1 or 2 pieces to garnish

Procedure

STEP 1: Add the chopped pineapple, sugar, coconut milk and ice cubes in a blender jar and blend it.

STEP 2: Transfer to a serving glass, garnish with chopped pineapple pieces and cherry.

Pina Colada

TIP: You can also garnish with grated coconut. 

Mango Lassi

Ingredients

Mango – 2 Cups chopped (4 mangoes)

Sugar – 3 tea spoons

Yogurt – 1 cup

Ice cubes – ½ cup

Saffron – Few Strands

Procedure

STEP 1: Add the chopped mangoes, sugar, ice cubes and yogurt in a blender jar and blend to a fine puree.

STEP 2: Transfer to a serving glass, garnish with finely chopped mango pieces and few saffron strands.
