Description
DIY Foam Flowers.
Foam flowers are easy to make, pretty looking and everlasting 😉
Foam flowers can also float in water. It can be used as a wall decal or can be used for decorative purposes.
Materials Required
- Foam sheets – different colors – I have used orange for the petals, green for the base and orange circle on the top to cover up the glued petals.
- Scissors
- Glue gun
- Embellishments (I have used rhinestone stickers)
Instructions
STEP 1: Cut the foam into the shape of a petal, like in the picture below. 6 large petals of 7 centimetres each & 6 small petals of 5 centimetres each.
STEP 2: Cut out a small circle shape foam of 5 cm diameter. This is for the base of the flower.
STEP 3: Hold on to the petal firmly on one side and stretch the petal on all the sides to make them look natural. Follow the same procedure with all the 12 petals.
STEP 4: Place the circle shaped foam on a flat surface. Using a glue gun, glue the large petals one by one. The petals should overlap on one another.
STEP 5: Let it dry for 2 minutes.
STEP 6: Start gluing the second set of smaller petals on top of the large petals. The tip of the small petal should fall in between 2 large petals.
STEP 7: Cut out a small foam circle measuring 2 centimetres in diameter to cover the spot the petals were glued.
STEP 8: Decorate the centre part of the flower with rhinestone stickers.
