Crunchy Indian Style Broccoli Stir fry/Broccoli Poriyal



Brocolli stir fry 1


Broccoli – 2 crowns

Onion – 1 small

Turmeric powder – ¼ teaspoon

Urad dal – 1/2 tea spoon

Cumin powder – ½ teaspoon

Pepper powder – 1 teaspoon

Cumin seeds – ½ teaspoon

Oil – ½ teaspoon

Salt – per taste


STEP 1: Wash the broccoli and chop them into florets. Take water in a large bowl and add some turmeric powder, mix well and soak the broccoli florets for 5 minutes.

STEP 2: Heat oil in a pan, add urad dal, cumin seeds and onion. Fry the onions till golden brown.

STEP 3: Add the pepper powder, cumin powder and salt. Cook for 2 minutes. .

STEP 4: Add the broccoli and mix well. Cook for 5 – 7 minutes and turn off the heat. Do not overcook the broccoli.

TIP: This is a simple to make, healthy, tasty stir fry recipe that can be served with rice.
