Kovakkai/Tindora Poriyal

Kovakkai Ingredients 1


Kovakkai – 1 Cup (Finely sliced)

Mustard – 1/2 tea spoon

Urad dal – 1/2 tea spoon

Fennel seeds – ¼ tea spoon

Curry Leaves – 1 sprig

Salt – per taste

Chilli powder – 1 teaspoon

Kovakkai Ingredients 2


STEP 1: Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds and wait till it splutters. Add urad dal, fennel seeds and curry leaves.

STEP 2: Now add the sliced Kovakkai and cook in the oil for 5 minutes.

STEP 3: Add salt and chilli powder and mix well. Cook on low heat for 15 minutes.


TIP: This can be served with yogurt rice or lemon rice.
