Coconut Chutney Ingredients

Ingredients – To Grind

Grated Coconut – 1 Cup (you can use frozen or fresh)

Salt – per taste

Tamarind – small piece

Roasted Gram – 1 Table Spoon

Ginger – 1 Small piece

Green Chilli – 1 to 2 nos. depending on the spice level

Coconut Chutney To Temper

Ingredients – To Temper

Mustard – 1 tea spoon

Urad Dal – 1 tea spoon

Curry leaves – 1 sprig

Dry Red chilli – 1

Cumin Seeds – 1/2 tea spoon


STEP 1: Grind all the ingredients under “To Grind” using a blender, to a coarse paste.

STEP 2: Heat oil in a small pan and add all the ingredients under “To Temper” one by one starting with Mustard. Then add urad dal, Cumin Seeds, Dry red Chilli and curry leaves.

STEP 3: Transfer the coconut mixture into a serving bowl and pour the tempered mixture.

STEP 4: Mix well and serve.

TIP: Coconut chutney goes really well with Vadai, Idli, Dosa and Ven pongal.
